In January, our South African lioness Ilanga welcomed two adorable female cubs into the world! These little ones mark an exciting new chapter in our multi‑generational pride: their dad, Tandie, was also born right here at Woodland Park Zoo in 2014 to beloved lions Xerxes and Adia.

Donate to Vote on Your Favorite Name!

From now until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 16, you can donate to vote for one of four names, carefully selected by our animal care team.

Choose your favorite.
Click the "Donate" button above to select any amount above $5 OR choose one of the pre-set donation amounts below in our "Cub Shower" registry.
Select your preferred name from the drop‑down menu.
Submit your gift and your vote!
Each donation directly supports the expert care that these growing cubs, and all the animals at the zoo, need to thrive. Peruse our "cub shower" registry below to see examples of how your gift could enrich the cubs' lives as they grow!
At the end of the voting period, the cub’s name will be determined by the number of donations for each option. All votes must be cast by 11:59 p.m. on March 16. The name of the new cub will be announced on Thursday, March 19.
